Hey there! This was a fun task for me. Currently the books being pulled off my book shelf are all Dr. Seuss, so I wanted to use one for this mani.
OPI In My Back Pocket, NYC French Tip White, OPI Green-wich Village
I started with two coats of NYC French Tip White. I then painted my lunulas OPI In My Back Pocket and my tips OPI Green-wich Village. I had found on pinterest an interesting technique using rubbing alcohol and paper to “print” on nails. I thought that this would be the perfect mani to try this technique, using the title font.
In order to use this technique and still have a readable mani, I reverse printed the title and also the dog in the car (for my thumb which you cannot see). I placed each word, one at a time, on a nail and held a cotton ball saturated in rubbing alcohol on the nail. I peeled the paper off after a couple of minutes of soaking in alcohol. I learned that ink jet printed images will not transfer at all. Laser printers and news print will transfer using this technique. I didn’t want to hand paint the title, or the image for that matter, because I wanted crisp lines. I ended up printing everything and just doing decals on my nails.
